This it is - the Lake Ranch. A real Working Cattle Ranch in Wyoming.
I stayed there for vacation in july 1999 - and prolonged my planned time for one week - it was great!
The country - wide, big, deserted.
The people - friendly, obliging, ready to help.
The life - free, unrestrained, eventful.
The Ranch is located near National Monument Devils Tower in the north-east of Wyoming. Lake Ranch spans over 6,000 acres of beautiful, natural terrain, surrounded by canyons, valleys, forests, creeks and wide open, spacious plains. It is shared in seventeen pastures which are fenced in with barbwire. Each pasture has 300 or 400 acres. To horseback ride around one "small" pasture you need at least two or three hours - if it is situated on a plain. But usually there are valleys, canyons, creeks and forests in each pasture.
Here live ca. 1,100 cattle - there is always something to do!
